As another reviewer noted, the platform works great with thin magnetic punches - as long as your platters aren't warped. I don't know about you, but I use my plates until they look like cat scratching posts, during which time they tend to warp. Additionally, some of the smaller stamps from other companies may not stay in place. However, I am very happy with this product and will resort to decals if needed.

The magnetic board works like a magnet. Just because you want to place the cube in a specific spot (to save paper) means the magnetic platform wants it. I got this because I'm dealing with cutting 20 rather small framelites, but I had to swap out the stamps from my intended spot to keep them from scattering. I've had a Sizzix magnetic platform for years and just bought another one as the price was right. This platform holds the dies in place when used in Big Shot with cutting inserts. This platform will not work with small die cutting machines (e.g. Cuttlebug) - I think it is 6 inches wide. A few tips: The cutting inserts need to be flatter so the platform can hold the die. Nice concept, but the end result is that the framelets I'm trying to cut jump during or between passes through the Big Shot. It looks like there are several magnets arranged in a grid, so that the small metal parts move when they are attracted to different magnets. This might not make sense if you can't see it, or maybe the explanation isn't true, but be aware it's annoying and you'll have to cut things to line it up if necessary (like Stampin' Up products) . .
