The inner padding is quite thick and soft. My legs stopped hurting long after work (10-12 hours of standing). I had already accidentally tested the steel toe cap when a piece of steel came loose from a faucet and fell on my toes. (150 pounds by 2 feet) It didn't even leave a noticeable mark on the shoe. 10/10 recommend.

As far as the steel toe work shoes go, I'm sure they have no competition. They are similar to figure skates because of their width, but every other aspect of this shoe completely eliminates that problem!

Then I would have rated the bot higher, the complete surprise that they are steel toe cap caught me by surprise. Maybe I should have read the product description more carefully. I still love them and they feel very well made and comfortable
