SLIK Leveling Unit II Black Review

I bought this product used and marked it as 'like new'. Looks good but the leveling head is stuck and won't move. I wish someone would test it before shipping - very disappointed.

This is one of the best aligners I have ever used. It's really easy to set up and allows me to take panoramic photos with ease. I no longer have to fiddle with tripod legs. I highly recommend this product.

Even after years of using a Benro tripod, I still have to stop and look down to make sure I'm setting the right angle. With the SLIK II level, one turn of the control ring is all it takes, balance, tighten and you're done! I used it for a real estate shoot for the first time and it made my workflow a whole lot easier! Can't you see how I've never gotten one! Sturdy, heavy (aluminum?), love it!

When researching tripod leveling bases, this was one of two that stood out from the rest. Instead of a lever to tighten/unwind the leveling base, a simple rotating horizontal ring is used. So don't worry about your hand touching the bottom of the tripod legs. Twist to tighten and loosen. The Allen key is also nothing to worry about. Glides fairly easily. I have several leveling bases. All Kingjoy, Neewer and Gemtune models slip at about the same torque ratio as this one. According to my estimates about 15 kg. 22 pounds sounds excessive, but I'll check it on the scale. The Manfrotto 438 is surprisingly strong and holds up well.
