Waste of money good for cycling

Don't waste your money or time buying this product. I installed two of these and a few minutes after getting back on my bike it "blew it out".

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Discontinued

Doesn't work with tire repair kits

I applied 3 fixes. At best, they were above the pinholes. I left her overnight. Turn on the air the next morning. So far, so good. The next morning everyone was exhausted. Don't waste money. Buy old adhesive patches or a new tube.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not sure

They are very easy to use. I followed the directions and wiped and cleaned the surface. They held the patch in place, but the next day the adhesive came loose and the tube leaked again. I probably used 5 patches and repeated the scrubbing process 5 times to try and get adhesion. I ended up having to use glue to keep the patch from falling off within 24 hours.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Very expensive

Expected more from Slime Products

Needed to patch a 26 x 2.125 bike cruiser tube. Follow the instructions for the letter "T". Everything looked fine. Holds air very well. Put it back on the rim and inflate it again to 36psi and it flattens out. Re-aired flat again. Also a small hole for a needle. I should have bought a regular patch kit but time wasn't on my side. It remains to buy a new tube. Don't waste time with them and don't rely on them in the field. Perhaps you are in a difficult position.

Pros
  • All is well!
Cons
  • Security

Do not buy. It will slip off no matter how well you fasten it.

I've used 2 and both solved the hole within a day. We live in Florida so it's pretty hot and muggy here but the bike stays in the garage so it's weird why it keeps breaking. The patch applies well and seems to be holding up well - even rode 6 miles round trip and it worked fine. But the next morning the tire was flat while the bike was in the garage. Strange. PS: This item is non-refundable. I think the seller knows.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some difficulties

DOES NOT WORK FOR ATTACHING BOOTS TO BICYCLES!

I purchased this item for an emergency repair on my bike. Well I was just trying to patch a flat tire on my bike and I've used all 6 SKABS on the tube and they failed miserably! If you bring the scab to the hole and inflate the tube, the tube will stretch and the capsule won't stay in place. I don't know if they work in different applications but for flat tire repair don't buy! I am very disappointed and had to walk my bike half a mile to get home!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Satisfaction Guaranteed? EERRK.

I had a leak in the internal chamber so I bought this hoping I don't have to buy another pick. It worked and we all said "Hooray!" and continued our bike ride. And the next day we said, "Oh," and I was relegated to being a pedestrian. It might work for you, but it just didn't work for me, so I don't recommend it. Maybe it's an emergency bike repair patch and it works enough to get you home when you're miles away, but definitely NOT a solution. Just a patch, no patch (that's a brand name that…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

I've been using SKABS for many years with no problems so far.

I've patched countless punctures with SKABS and never had a problem with leaks or poor adhesion until I patched the whole thing with one of these SKABS, filled the inner tube and let it dry. The next day it was almost flat and I couldn't find another hole in the tube. So I plugged the same hole with another one of those SKABS, but this time I put a heavy set of wrenches on top of the SKAB and let it sit overnight. The next day everything looked fine so I filled the tube with air and the next…

Excellent adhesion. Just don't touch the bottom with your finger. Releasing them from the box without touching the bottom wasn't easy at first. Until I found out you can start with a clean new razor blade. (1) Lightly rub the entire area under the crust with the metal shavings included in the kit. (2) Wipe off the rubber dust with a clean cloth and check whether the entire 1 inch area is scratched. (3) Peel off 1/2 of the scab from the cardboard and fold back 1/2 half of the backing paper. (4)…
