💪 Rock Solid SMART SOLUTIONS 1868 18-inch Review

Worked great. I had to drive over 100 miles to pick up my car and drive home. Fenders mounted on the Rock Solid hitch kept rocks from climbing up and hitting the car I was towing.

Installed this in 2015 and only used during two motorhomes. I have replaced 4 flaps because they break too easily and 2 more broke off on a recent trip. The "replacement" involves cutting a similar part out of the fender and attaching it to the remaining connector with sheet metal and rivets - it's neither easy nor pretty. This product would have received 5 stars if it was made from a more durable valve material.

It has everything I need to make it work. On the Ram 1500 with the rear exhaust, I had to flip some parts and hang the assembly upside down on the hitch. It should be noted that with this configuration you are planning to use the ball mount for this purpose only. Once you tighten this knot, the ball mount will not slip out without loosening the four screws on the mount again.

later The materials are decent and the rubber grips are solid. However, none of the rubber holes line up properly with the metal rod, making installation a nightmare. I had to redrill all the holes in the rubber to be able to assemble. My total assembly time exceeded 3 hours due to poor quality control at the factory. In addition, the rubber pads themselves have different lengths. The left guard measures 18.25 inches and the right guard measures 17.5 inches.

Bought as a last resort for a quick trip because my stone tamers don't fit the car I need them for.
