Screw breaks on top thread

I have used many Kreg hardwood screws but this is the first time I have used their stainless steel on an outdoor countertop. These screws break easily compared to your regular hardwood steel screws. They are snapped right on the last thread in front of a smooth pole. I had to resort to pre-assembly with regular steel screws, remove those screws, add glue, and then insert the stainless steel screws. Even then, some SS bolts break. The tensile strength must be much lower than that of ordinary…
