Good quality cables at Bulk Cables

Very good quality cables. The wires are good solid copper wire, the foil used to wrap the pairs is good thick foil. The wire mesh isn't as dense and thick as in the photo and is actually very loose and sparse, but I think the thicker foil on the twisted pairs makes up for that. The outer coating is also thick, which is good for durability but also makes it harder to bend in tight spaces, but I think if you're buying this type of cable, you probably expect that. As a bonus, the wooden spindle…

Good shielding is best for wiring and termination

I've used about half a roll so far. At the moment I'm only using it for gigabit, but it's running at full speed as I tested the cable speed with iperf and it's very close to the expected maximum of the cable. The difference between the max and what I got was due to my computer/NIC hardware and driver as another shorter shop had bought 6a cables which were the exact same speed. When it comes to shielding, I have a combined cable tester and cable tracker. I plug one of these two devices into the…

Expect a little extra work/expense but very strong connectors

This is a good quality cable, definitely thicker than normal Cat 5e or Cat6 as others have said. I haven't tested the speed at the moment, so I can't answer these questions. My main reason for this review is to let you know what trapezoid and end connectors I used. I used Cable Matters shielded keystone connectors, model 180014, and shielded plugs, model 180086. Both connectors are heavy-duty, but are much appreciated after I *tried* to use Lowe's plastic Cat 6 connectors (I couldn't get 6a…
