Solid silver is not left behind, they lose their silver color to a pale yellow color.

In just a few months they began to lose their silvery color and take on a yellowish tint. I will never be at this point again.

First order replaced due to needle turned dark brown after first wear. The company quickly sent a replacement. Unfortunately, both messages are now dark brown. Very disappointed, the earrings are very cute.
