Junk Solistek Matrix series with digital display. Don't buy this.

There is a problem with all of these Soloistek ballasts. They all suck. I bought 4. In less than 2 months 3 out of 4 are ready. I keep getting error code E-04 which indicates a short circuit. I fixed all the errors and found the ballast to be garbage. The 4th branch I used is not a digital display matrix.

DO NOT BUY! Buyer Warning!

I ordered this ballast in March 2019 and it has already died, the shop that sold it is now gone and Revain have rejected my claim as it was 1 month A to Z after 3 months is, ballast not light the bulbs, I've rebuilt 2 hoods, changed the bulbs, even took all my light to the local shop to check, the ballast is bad, gives an error opening the shirt, and if it now only lights up with double ended bulbs, then why was it sold both single ended and double ended in March! Speaks directly into Se/De…

The built in timer is a nice feature but I have three of these ballasts.

The built in timer is a nice feature but I have three of these ballasts and one of them randomly changes power about twice a month. Annoying as hell. I also had issues with another one not restarting properly with timer settings after brief power outages. Considering this and the high price, I will not buy them again. UPDATE: The one who changes the wattage started doing this daily so I swapped out the bulbs for another one of my Solis Teks and now they both work fine. Update 2: The one who…

Thing is a beast ! I was skeptical due to RFI complaints but I'm glad I bought them, I ordered 2 and compared to my other ballast they are insanely bright. I also use 3 Phantom II ballasts and they are on par, if not even better than this. They are very well made and a lot bigger than they appear. The picture doesn't justify them at all. Now they are hanging on my wall and look great. I will be ordering more soon! I have no disturbances at all. My cable and internet are working harder than…

Let's see what happens

I've ordered 2 of these bad guys but unfortunately a bad batch receive. I only needed one but I ordered two just in case I needed a backup. But both gave me short circuit error codes for a month. And I definitely used a new surge protector. I have already asked for a replacement and 1 of them arrived today. (Replacement mistakenly requested separately) During work. After I have returned the defective items and received a second replacement, I will update you all on my overall experience. UPDATE

Pros
  • Dimmable, multi-watt capable, only requires 1 remote control (not included) for all Solis Tek Matrix ballasts

Very good ballast, suitable for ballasts

For some reason they come with a timer. I've read that you need a remote to turn it off, but I found out that you can hold down the power button when the device is off and that will disable the timer. This is a self-test and does not heat up. I have a very small fan that blows directly on two of them on the lowest setting and they barely reach 40 degrees Celsius. If I don't use a fan, the temperature approaches 60°C, but no more. Generally they are quite noisy (electrical noise) and mess up a…
