Fast, professional quality

I use this reader on set as a DIT and it has greatly improved my workflow. I usually work with the Alexa Mini, Amira and C300 so a good quality c-fast 2 reader is a good investment compared to the slower ones that are usually rented with the camera. Copying to 2 SSDs also connected via Thunderbolt 3, I can offload a 256GB card in about 7 minutes. Almost twice as fast as my previous reader. The build quality of this reader is also worth mentioning. Its aluminum construction gives it aโ€ฆ

Works fine but one LED doesn't work

I use this as a professional in the film industry to copy media. I own several of these. However, a block of one of the LEDs never worked.

Card detection intermittent - never sees both cards (Win 10)

I installed the manufacturer's drivers on my new Dell laptop with the latest version of Windows 10, but my device will may never recognize both cards at the same time. I contacted the manufacturer's support (who responded and responded the same day) but they suggested that the problem was a bad cable (replace cable), a dirty connector (blowing with air), or a manufacturing defect. I've tried swapping cables and cleaning ports but to no avail. I have given up and sent the unit back to Revain for

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Waiting too long

I just got it from day one. . . WOW!

Had to go back to my BIOS and set Thunderbolt to allow allowed devices and then it worked. Wow, I immediately noticed the SPEED of editing. I usually crop and color correct the captured 4k video from the reader, then convert it to HD to save space. This device is way better than your regular $15-$30 CFast reader. It's very, very worth it. If you have Thunderbolt 3, this device makes you feel like you really have extra processing power just to make sure you get your data fast when you need itโ€ฆ

Extremely fast to use with computers with Thunderbolt 3 ports

Extremely fast to use with computers with Thunderbolt 3 ports I'm using it with a new iMac Pro and loading maps from my Hasselblad H6D is MUCH faster. You have to be careful when inserting cards until you get used to it.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • There are bugs
