Sony 4T120VRC 120 Minute Discontinued Manufacturer Review

I ordered 3 packs of 3 Sony VHS cassettes. The first set was difficult to open as the protective plastic film was firmly stuck to the tape covers and had to be scraped off, indicating the set was stored in a hot environment. The heat damaged the tapes. After the program was recorded and played back, horizontal white lines flashed on the picture and the sound was severely distorted. Place our video player next to the DVD player. Many of our blank video cassettes are old. We record programs during the day during work. This offers a lot of space and can be played forward and rewound. After DVDs came out, videos started coming out. I saved all my videos. It's the easiest way to record shows while you're away and then watch them. The price and the quantity it contains are great!

Ordered these as we have used Sony tapes in the past with no problems. The plastic wrap was very difficult to remove as if melted. We used masking tape and the image showed snow with lines. I looked for the date on the boxes and saw 2002. Had I known they were that old I would not have ordered them. Will buy another brand from a big store for a little more money - at least I know they work.

I have one of these tapes from a previous purchase which I have re-sticked dozens of times and it still gives an excellent picture quality. That is what prompted me to make this purchase. So far I've tried 3 out of 4 tapes from this purchase and all of them gave me distortion and white spots on the very first recording! They behave like much cheaper quality duct tape after it's been re-taped a few times.
