I use this camera to digitize my collection of family videos. The camera is in perfect condition, works great, the pictures are clear. The Depot for Brands seller shipped my camera quickly and offered a generous warranty. I would definitely buy from Brands store again.

This item arrived earlier than promised and is exactly as advertised. Now I digitize all my old 8mm tapes. It was a good purchase of quality equipment. All I had to buy was an inexpensive iLink cable (small FireWire on both ends). I am very happy with this purchase.

Needed to transfer my Super 8 Movies to DVD. Bought in very good condition but the viewfinder was broken making full use impossible. Revain actually refunded me the difference between good and very good condition. which was very fair. Arrived quickly, works great. Now all the movies are on DVD.

Have had this camcorder since July 2004. When the camera works it's a great machine. BUT, right after the expired warranty bands are not removed - $230 repair bill. Now the 1/06 format playback is horribly distorted - the head cleaning tapes don't work so the video head needs to be replaced - repair bill $211.00. I recently shot some old 8mm home video with a Sony CCD-TR6 camcorder. The videos have not been played for over 15 years. Guys, this camera is old technology. If you just want the ribbon feature, great! The USB driver is not compatible with Windows Vista or 7. Sony does not have updated drivers to install to fix this issue. You cannot download movies to your computer. The USB streaming function does not work with the new operating system. I received this camcorder about a week ago. Ease of use and an excellent user manual will help to understand the technical issues. Image quality using only standard 8mm tape is excellent. I can only imagine that more expensive tapes with metal particles or metal coatings can produce even higher quality images.
