DVD player won't play movies

We can get TV and Netflix but half my movies don't work. Very disappointed as this is the first DVD player in 20 years not to work in the mode I chose. I've tried this with DVDs I've owned for years and brand new ones.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Good but not great

Happy with this purchase

Installation is not easy if you are not a technician. I'm not a techie so luckily I have a good neighbor who helped me. It works great and the picture exceeds all my expectations. The only downside I see is that you have to use three remotes. Otherwise I am very satisfied with this product.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Contact Seller

Excellent and easy to use!

I've always loved Sony electronics and love the ease of use of this DVD player. My only criticism is that the DVD player itself, the buttons don't bother me as they are too flush with the car and should have been done differently. Sometimes I have to press the buttons multiple times for them to work. Otherwise I like the player.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost never

SIMPLE AND LIGHT DVD PLAYER

I bought 3 Sony DVD players and they are great. DVD players are small, thin, stylish, simple and easy to use, no fancy buttons. The remote control is just as simple and easy to use. Extremely easy to install. Image quality is perfect. I bought it for myself, my older brother (who has severe brain damage) and my 84 year old father (who had a minor stroke). ). We all really love Sony's new DVD players. We strongly recommend. Deserves 5 stars.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Weight

Discs won't play properly

I bought this player because it improved the picture quality to 1080 HD and works very well if you can find a disc that plays properly. At least 25% of the discs I tried to play stuck or skipped and they were discs in good condition that played perfectly on my Toshiba player which I have owned for over 20 years. I threw away that useless lightweight Sony and reinstalled this gorgeous heavyweight Toshiba that will probably last another 20 years.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Something else

This DVD player does not respond well to the remote control.

The remote control was very complex and only came with a general sketch that didn't explain what each button did. When I called Sony they charged $5 for tech support. Even with fresh batteries, the remote control had a mind of its own. If I clicked "Episodes" it would go to Features. When I pressed play all it switched to something else. Sony is no longer for me. The worst was when I tried to get more specific recommendations and couldn't find anything online. I'm not willing to pay for tech…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • So far so good
