Version for ER4 headphones

Received my used pair but not scolded. These are OG studio monitors without the "color" that most modern audiophile headphones have. I've owned and since sold the Etymoyic Research ER4P and these Sony are the headphone version of the dangerously accurate in-ear monitors mentioned above. If music is supposed to sound big, it will sound big. If there is a high frequency spike, you will hear it. If there's clipped bass anywhere, you'll know about it. A lot of music has been created with these…

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Some bugs

I bought it out of nostalgia and I really liked it.

I chose the MDR-CD900ST because they looked a bit like the Sony DR-S3 (my only in-ear headphones from the 80's to the last few years), I didn't once know if it was good or not good. There must be good reasons why this product is one of the rare models from Japan. One of them has to be the sound signature "Clear Background" which I heard in an old Sony model I happen to own. Got the MDR-CD900ST because it looked a bit like the Sony DR-S3 (my only on-ear headphones from the 80's to the last few years), not even sure what he was good or not good. There must be good reasons why this product is one of the rare models from Japan. One of them has to be the "clear background" sound signature I heard in an old Sony model I happen to own. I ended up really liking it for my purpose of using it for the casual audiophile. The sound is fantastic when paired with high powered EQ

Pros
  • Easy to use

MDR-CD900ST VS MDR V6

I bought this unit thinking it would be better than the MDR-V6 which I have had for almost 35 years based on Zeos recommendation. It's not like this. When I bought it I bought replacement ear pads which also fit the V6 for comfort as standard ear pads are cheap and put them on the headphones while listening. The sound in these headphones is too thick compared to the V6. The low frequencies sounded like there was too much of it. The midrange was thicker compared to the v6, but that's because it…

Pros
  • One year trial

May be 5 stars for some, but these headphones are not for everyone.

This is actually 5 stars for me but the reason I am giving this 3 stars is because you really need to know their pros and cons and for some these headphones can prove to be very disappointing, if you don't know them I've heard of these banks before and I don't know what I'm getting myself into. Also, mine came with a screw missing and the seller couldn't just send me an extra screw so I had to buy it on ebay which was a bit annoying so my depressing moment plays into my rating too. First. out…
