I've had a lot of Sony headphones and build quality has always been an issue, but they're beautifully made. The sound seems to get better the longer I use them. With 70mm drivers, I thought the bass might be bloated or slow, but it's not. My favorite headphones and they are definitely worth it. Price, except now I rarely take my Sennheiser or Grados.

I have the original MDRz7 and it's a good upgrade. They managed to make the sound more transparent at medium and high frequencies compared to the previous version.
