Cralin' JUNK for Headphones

I ordered these to replace another pair of Sony headphones of the same model except mine now have an extra microphone which I have never used. So I ordered a cheaper version without a microphone instead. I ordered two pairs, one for my phone and one for my work laptop. Both are complete garbage. From the moment they entered both devices, they meant nothing but crackling and cutting. I've always been happy with Sony products but these headphones, both pairs, arrived defective and sound worse…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

Made for smartphones

I bought these to use with a digital voice recorder. The packaging clearly says "for smartphone". Although it is not stated in the product description, it is actually only for a smartphone as stated in the instructions: If you connect this to an unsupported smartphone, the volume may be low. This device is not guaranteed to work with digital music players."

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Compatibility

Lifetime: one week: in-ear headphones

I was incredibly happy about this purchase. I did some research and realized they needed to deliver great sound at a great price. Unfortunately, what I got didn't match those reviews as much as what you'd expect from a $12 pair of headphones (perhaps worse). One of the earbuds stopped making noise within the first week of use. I will request a refund. I'd love to offer you a better alternative to these headphones, but at the time of writing this review I haven't started looking for one.

Pros
  • test for one year
Cons
  • not reliable

Degraded Quality

These used to be my favorite headphones. Excellent quality for cheap. But the quality has definitely gone down. All three recent pairs I've bought have had their left earbud fail shortly after purchase. The first was about a month late so I figured it might be marital or user error, the next pair also lasted about a month before the earbud shorted and my last purchase was a 3 day issue before it shorted became. After reading some other reviews I see that this is a recurring problem. Looks like…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • No mold required
