The goods did not come as in the photo

If you notice this product in the picture, it has 4 slots. When it arrived it had 2 slots. The 2-slot reader is indeed a 12-in-1 reader/writer, but I wanted a 17-in-1 4-slot reader/writer. I'm surprised they haven't corrected the photo yet. I had to return it for a refund and buy a 4-slot 17-in-1 reader/writer elsewhere.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Without insurance

Misleading memory card accessory

Very disappointing. This reader is described as reading "12" different types of cards. In fact, only 2 different cards are read directly. 10 more cards need adapters. In order for this reader to be able to read 12 cards, 10 additional adapters must be purchased.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Nothing

No compact flash slot

This device will NOT read compact flash cards. I thought a 12-in-1 flash card reader would at least read a compact flash card, but it doesn't. So I wasted my money. Thought I should point this out so no one else has to lose $15 (including shipping). A return was not worthwhile because I would have to bear the return costs.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

A complete step up from other card readers

This little package works. I have many others (cheaper, prettier etc) but I ended up buying this Sony after all my others failed on one card or another. I'm tired of trying adapters. My built-in readers were unsuccessful. This Sony works great. We recommend it to everyone.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • is embarrassing

Always works!: Memory card reader

I have purchased several variants of these devices from different manufacturers for use in software and hardware test systems. So far, Sony has been the most trouble-free. No problems with auto-detection by the host computer (it's really "plug and play") and I have yet to find a memory card that has reading problems.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Some difficulties

The cables to the card reader were wrong

Everything was fine with the card reader but the cables she sent me (2) were both wrong so I sent everything back. She emailed me how I knew it was the wrong cable. Well, it didn't fit. I'm just saying. I will look for a card reader from another company, I don't want to order from the supplier Janemichaels or whatever, very disappointed. We ordered it in February and in April I still didn't have the right cable.

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Almost never

Good product - misleading information

I had an earlier version of this reader for a number of years which worked very well and was very useful. However, the description here in Revain did not include maps for this device. supported, and after a long search we found a listing that said this particular model supports xD cards for Olympus and Pentax digital cameras, among others. After I gifted it to a new Olympus camera owner, he discovered it did NOT support xD - and had to tediously return it. FOR AMAZON: One of the KEY elements in

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Modern

Very nice memory card readers

I have a Sony camera that allows me to save an album to a memory card for a slide show so I can show pictures of my grandmother to a dinner group. Works perfectly! I have any number of Sony cameras so I can upload pictures from any of them. Still trying to figure out if compact flash cards probably need #17 for this!

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • There are flaws
