Unstable display in digital voice recorders

I ordered this on March 8th 2016. When it arrived I recorded with it 3 times (everything worked fine). Then I took out the batteries and put them away. I put batteries in today, it turned on, I was able to set the time and date. It will record, stop and play but the screen will disappear. When I press Menu/Disp the display goes crazy and then disappears. I know it's been almost three years since I bought it, but with minimal use (only about an hour) I wouldn't recommend buying it.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • boring packaging

I used this recorder to record lessons and the sound quality was pretty good. The included software was not compatible with my computer (Windows 10) so I only use Windows Media Player to listen to my lectures. The menu navigation isn't very intuitive, and there were hardly any instructions or information on how to access the different folders. Overall, while easy to use, it's reliable and durable despite being carried around in my backpack.

Stop working after 7 months: Memory full error

I liked the way it worked and the ease of transferring files to my computer, but I only used it for 7 months before it stopped working ( today, during an important business conference). This is the second one I've bought. The first one lasted me several years before I got the same error as today: storage full (even after deleting and deleting files from it) but I don't trust it and have to look for a new brand or model. Even with a full battery and deleting all files, it said there was no more…

Excellent recorder, suitable for portable audio and video equipment

Very clear sound quality. I had this voice recorder in my pocket with the mic end sticking out of my pocket and it was still able to pick up a very soft speaking teacher from across the room. When he wasn't speaking, the recorder picked up even small sounds, like a mobile phone vibrating in a bag on the floor. However, when he spoke, no background noise prevented his voice from being heard. At first I was a bit discouraged that there were so many instructions on how to operate this thing, but…

PERFECT for recording audio memories!

I was so happy to find this. I originally bought this to record oral histories for museums (it worked fantastically!) and then realized I liked it so much that I bought two more for personal use. It's like a less intrusive video camera. People are often much more willing to speak naturally if it's just a voice. So I started using it for "Home Memories" and other personal archives. I like it. I wish I had had it five years ago. I couldn't live without her. It's small, easy to use, durable and…

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons

I've had this device for a little over 6 months and may have only used some of its core features. But I'm an audio engineer and the quality of the recording is the most important thing as long as the simplicity of the recording is reasonable. The sound quality of this device's recording is exceptional, and making a simple voice recording is trivial! At around $50, it sounds almost double the price of professional mics. The battery life is also exceptional as it seems to charge in 2 or 3 minutes

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Expandable

Best in class, exceeds expectations

Works perfectly. Some people say that recording only in mono is a problem for them, but actually I would prefer mono so that all sounds are recorded the same way. You can later use the recording editing software if needed. The microphone is very sensitive and can be adjusted in the settings. There are several pre-programmed scene modes to choose from depending on your needs or make your own settings. Another thing I like is that you can insert an SD card with MP3 music files and use it as a…

It works, but it won't last forever.

I've had three of these orders, the sound quality is second to none! The built-in speaker isn't bad at all, and the presence of a microphone jack and headphone jack is very nice. It works great with rechargeable Duracell AAA batteries. Batteries don't last forever and I have several sets and at least one of them always gets hot without a charger. I don't leave the battery charging all the time, I use an automatic charger. The mini SD card slot is very handy, but I don't really need the extra…
