Outstanding humidification system

I like the mouthpiece lid - the open bite valves on the camelbak hydration chambers pick up dirt too easily (especially if you drop the pack). The tank is easy to fill and hermetically sealed, does not leak. The entire assembly is also easy to disassemble for cleaning and storage. One part that took me a while to figure out is that you have to turn the mouthpiece counter-clockwise to open the valve and start the flow. This is a nice additional mechanism that reduces leakage.

  • Everything is fine!

Comfortable and quiet

Works well. It resists taste and clutter and has a nice cap to keep the mouthpiece clean. I've been hunting in very hot weather and the water in my pack stays surprisingly cool. It's also quiet because it collapses when you drink the contents instead of creating an air space to make squeezing noises. Plus, you'll be more hydrated because you don't have to stop drinking. It also has a neutral taste. If it has one downside, it's that it's very difficult to dry drain and store. I haven't had it…

Pretty good bladder

Just received and filled with water right away. Like a WIDE mouth opening for filling. It would be very easy to add ice cubes and it won't leak. I like the quick disconnect hose - it doesn't leak. At first I didn't care to twist the bite valve mouthpiece to open it, I had to twist it to open and then twist it again to close it. After discovering that you can just leave the bite valve open (no leakage) - I don't have to turn it every time I want a drink, I really like it. At first I wasn't…

Best buy for the money

Bought 2 for me and my son. We used it to hike with the Boy Scouts in New Mexico (12 days). Easy to use and clean. The large opening makes it easy to fill with ice cubes (if you have some at home), as well as easy cleaning and drying. The detachable tube made it very easy to fill my bladder without the tube twisting where it attached to my backpack. Other Boy Scouts had blisters but had to pull the hose in and out to fill it (uncomfortably). The mouthpiece didn't leak and worked great (the…

Best in Outdoor Camping

The wide open end of the chamber makes it very easy to clean and dry after use. It is much better than other screw cap brands. However, tube drying, like others, is still a problem. A nice design improvement would be easy-to-remove fittings that let air through to speed up drying. The quick connector at the end of the hydration bladder is very easy to use. The dust cap on the drinking end keeps it clean. And the opening bite valve keeps you dry. I used to use specific moisturizing products like

Comparable (better?) to Camelbak at a lower price.

So far so good. There are no leaks yet. It appears to be made of a fairly durable material that won't tear or puncture, but I won't put it to the test. I haven't noticed any off-flavors either, but I'll confess that I'm not the pickiest person when it comes to the taste of water. I was a little concerned that the bite valve is very tight, but turns out you need very light pressure to open it. Regardless, it still won't leak if you don't bite. You can turn off the water flow by turning the bite…

Great humidification system!

The Source 2L Hydration System comes with everything you need. The kit includes a bottle and hose and a small cap that covers the mouthpiece. Upon arrival I wanted to test the product to make sure there were no leaks and that it was working properly before taking it camping/hiking. I have to say that every review I have read has rated this hydration system highly and I can see why. The bag is made out of a thicker plastic-like material that is quite durable. I currently have it in my Teton…

Great change system!

I've been looking for a small humidification backpack and found that the Camelback systems are quite good without a doubt. But they were also more than I was willing to spend. Then I found an inexpensive Murdoch water pack for about $25. I was really excited because the packaging was actually pretty good, but the hydration bladder turned out to be cheap and didn't work that well (you get what you pay for, right?). So I started searching the internet and came across this system from Source…

As described better than Nathan Running Pack OEM.

Replaced my 2 liter Nathan tank with this and this one is better. No unpleasant, acrid valve bitterness that accompanied my Nathan throughout his life. I like the bite valve cap and detachable hose. I haven't found any leaks at the isolation bushing. The bite valve takes less force to activate than my Nathan bladder. One thing I like and wasn't expecting is the stiffness of this bladder. It doesn't slide down the bottom of my backpack when it detaches from the strap. This thing's walls are a…
