I received this based on reviews saying they don't sweat or feel plastic. We have an expensive mattress and they tried to sell us a very expensive protector. Reviews for them indicated that they were popular on the Internet. We decided to find one that would protect but allow the mattress to breathe because we sleep hot and live in a hot climate. As long as this protector works. There is no feeling that I sleep on plastic and do not sleep hot. Pooh!

I replaced it with this mattress topper I bought when I bought a mattress. The old cover never seemed to fit properly and always ended up being so wrinkled that it was uncomfortable. This waterproof mattress topper from Spahr is perfect for my crease-free king-size bed. I haven't spilled any water or liquids on it so I can't comment on how waterproof it is but I can give it 5 stars for fit, comfort and durability.

Rating after 1 year: I bought the item in March 2017 for my baby bedding. I can confirm this is perfect for protecting your child's mattress when your child might have an accident at night. My wife has waterproof sheets under the sheets. For those who have a child who keeps spilling things or has an accident on their bed, I recommend that you leave the material on the plastic and still put this waterproof bedding over the plastic to protect the material perfectly. I've tried cheaper mattress pads but this one is way better than any other I've used. It fits very well on my thick pillow top mattress, doesn't make a rustling noise and you don't even know it's there. I wanted something that actually offers protection but doesn't sound or irritate.
