SPAL fans are GREAT!

SPAL manufactures the best fans on the market. Save money by buying Spal. If you are considering Mishimoto, don't waste your money. I had a 16 inch fan on my race car, the Mishimoto fan was not enough for track season. It was not properly balanced, resulting in damage to the casing and sensors. In short, become a SPAL fan. You will not regret it.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

This is good hardware.

I needed a fan to cool an outdoor mast under construction. I think it will be fine. I tested it on the bench and it works perfectly. It also has a reasonable draw current of around 10 amps. At first I had some concerns about the built-in modular plug, until I realized that the standard crimp plugs fit directly into the housing and work perfectly.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Reliable

Know Your CFM Needs

First of all, this fan has no mechanical damage. I prefer Spal products. The problem is that this 16" fan is about 3" smaller than the 16" fan it replaced. Also, it is advertised as a straight blade fan while I got a low profile fan with curved blades. It should run great on a 4 cylinder engine and maybe be shrouded but it pales next to the fan it replaced. At over 110Β° and driving slowly, the 2.8-liter V6 is not cooled.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Exorbitant Price

Arrived dusty best in fans and parts

I haven't installed this fan yet because I don't know if it's a return I paid full price for. Arrived in a SPAL box which looks new but the fan itself was placed directly in the box with no documentation and when I took the fan out of the box I found it dusty and used looking. Why Revain has sub-categories of star ratings for warmth, suppleness and transparency is beyond me. Last time I checked, a fan isn't pantyhose.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Expensive

The Only Really Thin Fan

For some reason this is the only real thin fan that was really thin. I bought different brands and unfortunately they didn't work. Easy to install once you know where your pros and cons are. To make things easier, I suggest buying a separate wiring harness that controls the electric fan. Especially if you are replacing a mechanical fan with this one. That only proves it. I installed this on a 1990 BMW 325i with a 1998 M3 engine.

  • Automotive
Cons

This Fan Is Quiet - Fan and Parts

It took me weeks of research to finally decide to buy this fan. I use it to cool my Triumph TR4A. Most people are overdue for this and buy expensive fans twice or triple the size of this one. That's a waste of money. With the greater amount of air moved, there is also a higher noise level. It is very quiet, inexpensive and has a solid construction. I attached the fan to my radiator with some body gasket mounts. This worked great for me, but you can check the brackets on the SPAL site.

Pros
  • Engine Cooling and Climate Control
Cons
  • Moderate

Great for 65 Mustang

I have a '65 Mustang with the latest 5.0 liter model rebuilt with a serpentine system. This offers very little freedom. I bought a 3 row aluminum heatsink that is a bit thicker than the brass heatsink I had previously so this fan fits perfectly on the new heatsink giving me less than 0.5" of space. I mounted this fan to the fairing using Hayden mounting rods, then mounted the fairing to the radiator. I have no vibration issues with the no-fan gasket. Keeps the car cool at idle and uses very…
