I have been wearing compression stockings for three years now and over the years I have collected about a dozen pairs from a dozen different companies. I thought the socks were well made, but they were too big for me. I wear women's shoes in size 6-7. I ordered Small-Medium, but ordering the smallest size was too big for me. I was really wondering if they sent me a larger size. There was no writing on the sock to find out the size of the sock. The foot pocket was too big and they were also 3 inches above the knee; but often knee socks are too high on my leg. I just cut them off and do a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine. I tried 7 to 10 pairs of compression stockings from Amazon to see which matched my JOBST pair that I bought from my doctor's office and these were the closest if not same. If you prescribe compression stockings, your doctor will measure your ankle and calf. I've only found one other brand that gave you an ankle measurement (not this one) and unfortunately their socks didn't pinch the ankle. Sparthos don't list ankle measurements, but the packaging says they put the most compression on the ankle
