Great pen for beginners

You won't tell the difference between thick and thin lines that you can get with dip pens, but for simple projects these pens will do.

An avid writer needs quality pens.

The ink cartridges either do not snap into the pen or after closing and reopening the pen the ink is released and is in the pen body.

Neat starter set for writing and correction needs

I like pen holders as a starter set, nibs are fine. For those trying to learn sharpened calligraphy, this was a great place to start. After buying different springs (Nikko G) I can tell the difference. Nice that this set includes two pens to try out, as well as ink, pen cleaner and a book. The book is cool as it talks about the history of calligraphy and different styles. I will say that it's not necessarily great for teaching technique.

I was a little disappointed. It's not that the product was inappropriate.

I was so excited to purchase this product but when I received it I was a little disappointed. It's not because the product was bad - for the price the pens are actually good quality - but for those who practice copperplate calligraphy these pens are NOT worth buying. Nibs have straight edges for gothic script, formal script, etc. But for copper, the lines are so thick that it's difficult for someone like me, a beginner calligrapher. When I start to italicize, these pens come in handy.
