Inexpensive but effective

While it's hard to pay close to $4 for a beat, this one didn't disappoint. I used it to drill bolt holes in a climbing wall and it did exactly what I needed with no issues.

Pros
  • Beveled cutting edges for increased strength
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

These are pretty good bits

Not sure why the reviews on these don't match the correct product. But I've used these Irwin Speedbor Bits quite a bit. They are great for quickly drilling holes in studs before running electrical wiring. However, if you hit a nail, they can easily be damaged. But this applies to all spade bits that I have used.

Pros
  • Designed for impact wrenches with a 1/4" impact shank
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

This bit does not come with double cutting tips

Revain have finally changed the information which means most of the reviews below are no longer accurate. I did not buy it again to see if the 1/8 bit is still "shorter than standard. Ordered three times and the product has a 2X bit and not a 4X as shown in some photos and the listing of items twice shown. I received a 2X bit with a 4X part number on the box. It is also 1/8" shorter than stock so as not to drill 3 2x4's which is common in the construction industry.

Pros
  • Lasts 2x longer* to make
Cons
  • more brittle
