It is sad to read that the quality of Sperry has gone down. I couldn't believe it but after wearing the pair for four days my right heel started to squeak. My previous pairs have lasted me for years and got even better as I wore them. Even after spilling a whole bottle of olive oil on it. I bought my first pair of Disney World top slippers. I wore them for most of the trip (7-14 miles a day) and then about half a week for the next 3 years. They are amazing. Comfortable, breathable, real leather and can be worn without socks. This is my second pair of original and third pair of Sperry shoes. All were wonderful. The 100% genuine leather upper is very important to me. The balls of my feet are usually wide and stretch very well. They seem to match the shoe size.

I have been wearing Top-Siders for many years as leisure shoes on the beach, in the swimming pool and everywhere in the summer. These shoes just keep creaking with every step. I was hoping it would go away after they broke in but it's been 3 months and I still have my clown shoes. Don't buy them from Revain. Edit: I contacted the company directly and they replaced my clown shoes at no additional cost.

Having not worn boat shoes since the 80's I was ready to be disappointed in them, especially after reading some reviews that the quality of Sperry had dropped. On the contrary, these shoes looked amazing right out of the box and were beautifully packaged. I ordered half a size smaller as I saw on the Sperry website (as you usually wear them barefoot and they need to stretch a bit). I'm wearing them right now after opening them less than an hour ago.
