A great replacement for a flap joint.

Used this product to replace an old swivel on my 95 C1500. Easy removal and replacement. It remains to cut one of the coupling bolts.

  • Max RPM/Working Speed
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Upgrade for worn articulated joint

My 95 S10 had a badly worn articulated joint on the steering shaft and this cardan was the perfect replacement/upgrade. The original flap joint is very difficult to remove, but the new gimbal slips off immediately. I'm deducting a star because the set screws are literally three times as long as they should be. They stick out a lot when installed and I had to cut one off for clearance.

Worked great on my Suburban 97

The connection could be a little smoother but I suspect it will loosen up a bit with more use. As per other reviews, I used the joint to replace the lobe joint on my 90's GM truck. Came out easy enough with a little sanding to remove the old joint. The steering feels tighter and was worth the time improving it. Ditching the quick pull master cylinder in favor of one from the '70s was another must if you own a GMT400.
