SPTA Proxxon Aluminum Grinding and Polishing Tool Review

I was disappointed in the quality. Some stones are planted askew on the waves. Not suitable for fine work such as sharpening knives. The stone bounces off the blade instead of creating a smooth grinding surface. Stones are good for grinding rough surfaces, but not for fine grinding. Simply roll the stone with your finger on a smooth, hard surface to test it before attempting to use it on anything that needs a fine sanding to avoid damaging the fine surface.

I bought them because the price was good and I was lucky enough to buy directly from suppliers in China. So I took another risk. The product arrived in less than two weeks. I use this type of grinder in our shop and after drilling the mild steel jewelry we grind down any rough edges on the back. I bought these to use in my Dremel variable speed power tool. They fit perfectly in the tool holder. I bought them to specifically remove rust from a steel planter. Lots of curved swirls, flat metal and edges. They worked very well as long as the bit stayed securely on its post. Where they tend to fail, the sanding head detaches from its metal post/pin.
