SquareD HOM Arc Breaker and GFI Circuit Breaker

This has been the correct circuit breaker for the SquareD Hom panel since circa 2005. The circuit breaker is protected against GFI and arcing faults. It has a neutral wire to connect to the neutral strip, as opposed to a "plug-in neutral" which has no wire and snaps onto the strip.

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability

Great for electrical equipment

This switch was a square type D and fitted my switch box perfectly. Easy to install but I had to extend the neutral wire from the load wiring to get to the switch. This was a replacement switch for a circuit that did not have GFCI outlets. And I couldn't get to a specific outlet to replace it with a GFCI outlet. It was behind my hot tub. So a GFCI/AFCI circuit breaker was the only way to protect this outlet and the whole room. Any container near a water source or in a basement needs at least…

  • Easy to use

  • Not sure

. which previously had an expansion box with a faulty GFCI switch

Used in a pool lighting circuit that previously had an expansion box with a faulty GFCI switch. I was able to ditch the sub panel box and run this GFCI/CAFCI switch directly on my new Square D Homeline panel. The only complaint about the size of this switch. The tunnel on my main panel is not compatible with such a large switch. The tunnel wasn't really needed so I left it and installed a new breaker. If they were 50% cheaper I would buy more to get rid of the many GFCI outlets around my old…
