Truly economical, Odie's Dark averages 21 sq. ft./oz. on most domestic woods---a 9 oz jar of Odie's Dark will cover more square footage than 1 gallon of other leading brand finishes. Definitely darkens the wood

I used it on the wood burning painting. I believe this removed some of the watercolor and created a new look. Looks cool if you like the look.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Secret

Very happy with the new finish.

I put the oil on the cutting board for dough, the smell of oil is pleasant and the appearance speaks for itself (the darker side is on Odie. The other side is not finished yet.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Unreliable

Odie's is the best finish available

After using Odie's clear oil on a dining table I built, I decided to use dark oil on a charcuterie board I made. Enough darkened maple. Very nice ending. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Quality

Does NOT darken on household items

Was disappointed as it didn't darken at all. I contacted the company and they explained that "it doesn't get darker, just brings out darker notes". False advertising should be taken into account as it does not do what the description says.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Okay, but the original is better

It seems to work just as well as a regular Odie in the end, but it's thinner (not that far) and the blackout effect isn't all I was told. I'd say you're better off with a can of original and stain/paint. However, it leaves an almost waterproof finish so I can't really complain.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

This is a very safe coating that dries quickly, does not dust or spread. The look and feel cannot be compared to polyurethane. It's not cheap, but it's worth it, easy to use and eco-friendly. If you're buying this for a small project, also buy a can of Bloxygen, this will extend the life of unused Odies.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Something is wrong
