Good value for money. in braces and joist hangers

I will be mounting the brackets in one block so I won't be using the screws provided. However, as a few people have pointed out, the brackets are wider than the 2X4, which I really like because it exposes the side skin of the door. The mounts seem very strong and would be made for a solid barricade.

Durable and Stylish Mount

This is a strong, well-made stainless steel mount. It is well made and has no rough/sharp edges. Looks too nice to use in the garage. The screws provided are not as strong as the bracket, so others are used. As other reviewers have pointed out, the mount is 2 inches wide, so a regular 2x4 would be too slack since it's only 1.5 inches thick. I'm still happy with my purchase and will get it working for my purposes.

Very reliable mount, does not quite match the dimensions of 2x4. A little big

The product is very durable! In normal baricaid situations, this will never fail. Stainless steel can warp, causing the mount to warp, but I don't see that as a problem. The dimensions are not ideal for 2x4 lumber, i.e. the thickness of the bracket is greater than 1.5 inches, resulting in some edge to the bracket when a piece of 2x4 lumber is added. I would recommend cutting out a 2x4 piece of wood to fully mount the bracket to the 2x4 bracket.

Very high quality solution at a reasonable price

We have an outside cabinet with a door that opens when it rains. I'm not sure why. But those brackets allowed us to install a 2x4 through the door to keep it closed, and now nothing opens in the rain. I LOVE that I don't have to risk a downpour to slam a stupid door. All I needed was a drill (we pre-drilled a few holes in the post) and a screwdriver. The brackets are supplied with high quality stainless steel screws. I love the brackets so much I almost wish we had another malfunctioning door…
