Not reliable enough for accurate reading

Based on my observations, this metal live wire detector is not dependable enough for accurate readings. While it does have a handy LED light indicating detection, it often misses live wires and gives false readings on non-metal objects. The only pro is its compact size, but that's hardly worth it if it's not providing reliable results. Overall, I wouldn't trust this product for any serious electrical work.

Pros
  • Reliably detects live wires behind walls and ceilings
Cons
  • Difficult to use if not familiar with electrical wiring

Anti-theft alarm in measuring and marking tools

Purchased for an upcoming project. I wanted to use it after the return window closed and it wouldn't even turn on. What a rip off.

Pros
  • AC detects depth of approximately 2 inches, battery operated (9V battery included)
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Stops working for stud finders

Stops working after a few months. When you press the spike finder in your palm, the readings change - the new one I bought has deteriorated.

Pros
  • Stud scan detects depth of about 1.5 inches
Cons
  • Protection
