I can't find a combination to use this device and the SD together in any combination so that it can be read by the host computer. Completely useless and a waste of time.

My Mac only recognizes an SDHC card with the CY Standard SD SDHC memory card extension when the card is plugged into the extension cable at startup. If you pull the card out and reinsert it, it will not appear. You must restart your computer each time you insert a card.

This may be useful for people who play with things like raspberry pie or who need easier access to the SD card slot of a PC or retro gaming project. I haven't tested it to see if it's slower than a direct connection, but it seems to work fine with most cards I've tried.

I could live with a frustratingly short extension cord as my computer is behind that footrest and it helped except after you put the SDHC card in you had to pull the other end (which eventually breaks ) back and forth before it has transferred the data from the card to the PC! How practical and almost insane!

This is a great idea as the SD card slot is on the back of my iMac and is difficult to reach due to a cramped desk and two monitors. Unfortunately, the card can only be attached as follows: plug the card into a spring-loaded (female) extension cable, and plug the male end of the extension cable into the SD slot. You can unmount as usual, but insert another SD card into the extender, the card will not mount until you remove and reinsert the male end of the extender. No improvements.

Unusable for its intended purpose. It works, but only once. If you remove and reinsert the card or insert a different one, the host device will not recognize it unless you reboot the host device, rendering it completely unusable for its intended purpose. This is particularly frustrating and the seller was asked the exact same question in the Q&A and told no problem. Well it is. Same problem on 3 different Macs, 2 Windows PCs, tablet, camera and 3D printer.

Incredibly useful for my new iMac. Apple decided to put the SD slot on the back of the Mac (hehe, that rhymes), and what a pain that is. This allows the SD slot to be placed within 25 cm (approx. 10 inches US) of the rear slot. I chose to place it at the bottom, near the right edge, so access to the slot is convenient and nothing interferes. I'm a tricky little soft origami with a bouncy ribbon cable and double sided tape, sourced from my favorite mail order business owned by my good buddy Jeff
