On my 95 4 with 3 vz. I have tried several times to remove and clean the old EGR but to no avail. Eventually I broke down and bought it because it was about $100 cheaper on Amazon. It took me a day or two longer to receive the part but when the part arrived and was installed. What difference does it make, the truck starts, idles and runs with no problems.
