This is not the right sensor for 02 f350 7.3. All the time will be hot to read. You need a gray sensor. It looks different than the OEM with a longer tip, but it fits and works.

This device worked great sending the temperature to the dashboard. I replaced it with one from A/Z which removed the service tag but didn't register a temp.

If you are looking for a coolant temperature sensor that will fit in your water pump, this is NOT the one. That will give you bad reading. It indicates either overheating or cold. Also, the plastic is weak and broke off when removed. To buy a car!

If the temp sensor is damaged by converting the water pump to 99-03 7.3 Superduty, you need this. The one they sell you at the auto parts store is to turn on the fan. This controls the dashboard. Take advantage of my frustration.
