Comparing the Efficiency of Standard Motor Products VS63 EGR Time Delay Switch Review

Received this for my 2003 Ford Explorer 4.0l after receiving code P0401. I swapped out a lot of parts and that seems to have fixed the problem! It was a rough idle and stop. The mounting holes did not match the factory ones and was a little tricky to install as one of the factory holes was lengthened to fit the bracket.

This EVR Solenoid takes two minutes to install but I had to drill out the right hand brass bushing that clamps the strut. The hole was small. The bolt went well through the left side and I tightened the 8mm nut to hold the solenoid in place. So far this is working fine. No gross stumbling at idle. The packaging says Made in Taiwan, time will tell.

I normally buy Motorcraft parts only for my Fords but they no longer have the EGR vacuum solenoid for my 2002 Explorer. I have used Standard Motor products in the past, so I had no hesitation in buying this one (never waste your money on the cheap Chinese "T" series of Standard, they are junk). The solenoid looked exactly like the original OEM that failed and once installed it fixed my gross idle problem. SMPs are good parts if you avoid their part numbers ending in "T".
