Not like the pictures

Two of the three pictures show a metal handle to connect to the tank. I used to have a problem with broken plastic bottles. The box it comes in shows the all metal construction. It's plastic!

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Something different

Very weak stabilizers

Very weak. It is not very convenient for me to put the lantern on it without additional fixation. See photos of "Stabilizer Arms". They're not even straight. EDIT: I decided to bring this back. It's a nice concept, but it's so sloppy I don't like it. The post is tilted at a 10 degree angle, so not straight.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Very expensive

Some assembly required

I was able to hook it up to a propane tank with no problem, but there was a stability issue. I could get a rubber plug for the end of the screws. My Coleman propane lamp had a hard time connecting to the top, but we got it working. Once everything was hooked up, I had no problem refilling the lamp and the propane lamp we connected to this pole. .Oh, and my title. I'm acting stupid. The pole requires no assembly other than attaching other parts to it.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some flaws

Security risk - you are spending more than you think

The idea behind this product is great. Attaches well to the tank outlet. However, the brittle metal used in the mount makes it very unstable. We're a Boy Scout troop and two lanterns fell over and broke and a kid walked past them. We added some material by welding into the L bracket and it helped, but overall this is a poorly made product and should not be used where more than a few children are around.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Useless features

Do one three things.

I got this to convert a couple of jerry cans into 20lb tanks for a nice LPG saving. The top is reserved for my flashlight and is actually better than the stand because the tank becomes the base for the flashlight. One of the stabilization screws was loose in the box, but it worked as expected. It looks like the pressure of the gas could be reduced by splitting it into three devices, but I just hooked up a flashlight to test the theory. This is a type of glamping that makes landing a little more

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Older model

Will not stand up on its own

When mounted on a propane tank, it will not stand up. Even after the two screws in the bottom are tightened to secure the propane tank, the whole thing wants to tip over. I think if the metal bracket that the bolts go through wasn't bent at such a sharp angle the bolts would be able to make better contact with the tank and hold it as intended. A cheap bungee cord keeps it in place, however, and this product was half the price of the one in BPS. 6 weeks later: The instability of this productโ€ฆ

The plug is made of plastic and breaks easily.

This is the third product that I have bought in this way. I ordered this because the closeup shows a metal bracket on a propane tank. The original picture shows a plastic connector. I missed this detail. The last two I ordered were plastic. Both cracked in connection with the tank within one or two uses. I was looking for one with a metal connector so it doesn't break. I believe that one will be just like the other. This one is less convenient as it is a single long stick, with the other two at

BEWARE! DO NOT BUY!

So many things wrong where to start.1. ATTENTION! This thing leaks where it attaches to a 20-pound propane tank. Very dangerous. If you compare the brass fitting on this product (black plastic pictured right) to another good hose I have (green plastic pictured left) you can see how poor the workmanship is and how subtle it is allowing propane to flow out of the tank let .2. The stabilization screws do not work at all. They don't stabilize at all even when fully screwed in.3. The pictures in the

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required

I was never sure how to properly dispose of small propane tanks and I got tired of having multiple tanks on hand for cooking, lighting and heating when I was camping. If you have space in your car for a large tank and don't have to walk too far to get to the campsite, this is for you. I've tried another brand that doesn't have such an angle and if I have an 8ft hose to connect to a portable grill that pulls on the reservoir. I returned it to Revain with no problems and ordered this one insteadโ€ฆ
