Locking tab on thermostat did not latch into housing as intended. Had to spend another $20 to buy one that fits properly.

Wanted to change from 203f to 180f and this is what I need. I lower the star by one star because there is no gasket in the kit, you have to buy it separately.

This item works great on a 2010 Chevy Traverse with a 3.6 liter engine. Used to replace a defective original part. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Bought for my 2011 Buick Enclave CLX 3.6L. The locking tabs on the thermostat did not protrude far enough to snap into the thermostat housing. I had to bend both tongues outward for them to snap properly.

The right part. The only issue I had has more to do with the GM design. This is by far the most difficult thermostat I have ever had to change. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you have experience. DO NOT throw away the cardboard tube. This is required for the installation

I absolutely cannot recommend this thermostat. If you are familiar with this application, the thermostat is mounted under spring tension at the water outlet. To lock it there are 180 degree tabs that you twist into the case to lock it in place. You can see the protrusions in the photo on Amazon. The original GM thermostat has these tabs on a straight rod. This thermostat fitted my 2008 Malibu 2 New 3.6L perfectly. For some reason it was hard to find without the whole body, to hold it is of course significantly more expensive. On the left is my old thermostat and on the right is the new one. It fell straight into its new home and works great. It comes with the tube, that you need to slide the spring into the old thermostat to remove it and also a new one to install it. First I tried installing the thermostat without removing a hose from the body.
