It's tough when the thermostat fails. It's even worse when the part costs $230 at the dealer and $180 at local parts stores. I saved a lot of money by buying it here. I had a mechanic install it so I can't comment on how easy it was.

I thought it was crazy to spend almost $100 on a thermostat. That was until I checked the price at my local parts store when 100 seemed like a good deal. It fit perfectly and solved my low temperature problem. It was also very easy to install.

Direct replacement for my 2.3L Duratec 03 Ford Ranger. Installed it myself in about 2 hours. Once you access and drain the coolant it's only 4 bolts. The price of this unit is 1/2 of what I could find elsewhere. Now my truck warms up in under 5 minutes as it should.

Make sure the system is properly bled, use plain green antifreeze and don't mix other types of antifreeze together. high RPM for a few minutes until you feel a good heat coming out of the vents, then bring it up to the right level and you're good to go.
