📍 Stanz Coaxial Tracker Pocket Finder Review

I use this toner to trace cable connections from an indoor outlet to an outdoor cable entry point. The connections on the toner and detector are reversed on some setups, so I made a male-to-male adapter for the detector and used a female-to-female adapter for the toner main body for flexibility. The block works very well.

Easy to use, two piece main body has a red LED which will illuminate if a short is detected when connecting to the coaxial cable. It also delivers an electrical charge to the cable when connected. The second part unscrews from the main instrument and contains a small speaker that beeps when connected to the other end of the coaxial cable from the main instrument.

I want it tinted by splinters BUT even expensive brand name toners won't tint by splinters unless you use Fox and Hound toner. In any case, it was a reliable little tool that worked under pretty impressive conditions, even when the dog had chewed through the cable and there was almost no screen, braid, or dielectric left on the wire. Note that the sound in the speaker is generated by the voltage it receives from the AAA battery in the toner, so the speaker will sound through satellite splitters
