I want it tinted by splinters BUT even expensive brand name toners won't tint by splinters unless you use Fox and Hound toner. In any case, it was a reliable little tool that worked under pretty impressive conditions, even when the dog had chewed through the cable and there was almost no screen, braid, or dielectric left on the wire. Note that the sound in the speaker is generated by the voltage it receives from the AAA battery in the toner, so the speaker will sound through satellite splitters or a stray voltage line.
