A $30 pair is much more accurate and reliable.

At first I thought it was a good tool. Dropped them about 6-8 inches on the workbench in the first 3 days. They are NOT resettable, they cannot be opened for reclocking. When closed, zero equals plus or minus 5 thousandths. If you don't mind paying that amount for a measuring tool that is accurate to 10 thousandths of an inch, then go for it. THIS FIXES A $30 PAIR, MUST VOTE IN THE Trash! If you look at this product, it says the measurement accuracy is +_ 0.001". That's not true, mine is only…

I bought these a few months ago and when I received the micrometer as a gift I noticed it was made in China. It made me reconsider this tool that I haven't used or looked at since I got it. To my surprise and chagrin, it's made in China and it's too late to return it. Also plastic parts in there and it doesn't hold the zero point properly. Starrett proved to be a huge disappointment.
