Worked great for the HTPC I built. I didn't really need the serial port so I cut it down and wired it up for a special project connecting a couple of LEDs to a COM port on my motherboard and it worked great!

Motherboard has connectors but no port. I needed a long cable to get from the phone to the back of the case and that did it. The one I had from an ancient PC case wasn't long enough. I didn't look closely enough at the picture, but this one has a "half-slot" plate. My PC case is full of slots. I removed the plate from the supplied plate and mounted it on the standard plate. A new server build required a console cable connector. The board supported a serial port but did not come with a cable. I didn't have any spares in my bag so I ordered it. It works great in a 2U rackmount case and works flawlessly when connected to switches and a router. The price is reasonable too.
