Should be replaced with a 2.5 " SSD

I was hoping to use this as a RAID device for my computer but there seems to be a problem. When configured for RAID1, the LEDs will not stop blinking. When I put it in JBOD mode, it only shows one stick, not two. But when I put it in SPAN mode I see twice the capacity I should. Both sticks are the same, WD 500GB NGFF M.2 2280. Other Cons: Flash drive mounting screws are tiny and difficult to manipulate. I have decided to return this device for an external USB-C RAID device.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Shit stay away! THAT DOES NOT WORK!

1. Insert Samsung NVME 980 PRO 2TB into the adapter.2. Confirms that JBOD with built-in radio buttons is selected.3. Power is supplied via two different SATA-to-USB enclosures with separate power connectors. The drive generated an error. Both LEDs light up constantly, Windows writes "DRIVE IO ERROR". Removed NVME and added it to the computer. The disk worked fine: formatted, filed data, kept speed. It's not about the drive! Plugged back into adapter, repeated JBOD and RESET. The hard disk is…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Appearance

Used in RAID 1 with 2 Kingston drives. I've read several reviews that suggest formatting each drive separately before going to RAID. I did it and it was flawless. Just for a smile I tried it in JBOD. This worked on a newer Lenovo but not on an older Gigabyte motherboard. This is because the SATA controller does not support SATA HUB on the old computer. Overall it does what I want it to do and that makes it good value for my money.

Well built. Easy to use. Works great.

There were four 2565GB B&Ms. Received two of these cases. Install as a JBOD. Now 512 GB configured as a stripe. bam! 1TB SSD. I smoke! No, seriously, they worked a little hotter than I wanted. So I removed the metal cover and left the SSDs open for direct air cooling. That solved the heating problem. Now they're operating at a reasonable 41C. However, the circuit board is only attached to the frame with plastic pins that aren't strong enough. They are guarded as long as there is no movement…

Fast, Reliable, RAID

So I was a newbie and bought two 2TB SATA m.2 SSDs. Little did I know my phone only supports NVME in slot 2 and I would have to pay a 15% restocking fee to return it. So this unit cost as much as I would have lost in restocking fees. (Read the MoBo product specs page of course). The time of history is over. This device was very easy to put together, and it immediately showed up on my computer as a single disk (except for the need to initialize the disk). I have never seen such fast read and…

Too early to say good Cables and accessories

The unit appears to be well assembled and looks very nice. The supplied screws for the M2 could have been mounted on the board to save us some hassle as they are very small and quite difficult to align and secure properly. Configuration was easy for me. I installed a pair of Micron M600 M.2 256GB SATA SSDs, set the jumpers to RAID 0, plugged in the SATA cables, and booted my computer. Disk Management opened and immediately offered to initialize the new volume. I used GPT mode and was able to…

Doesn't work for me. But.

Here are some positives, it looks well put together and is really flexible to accommodate drives of different sizes. It's a relatively simple installation process and comes with all the hardware required. I have a laptop and wanted to have a mirror drive, so with 2500GB M2. SATA Drive will be great in business. That was the goal, but it doesn't work properly. After all the settings and Windows 10 installation, it took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to the screen requesting your country. As a…
