This extension works. I tested it with 4 segments of cable, 3 category 5e cables (including category 5e RJ45 cable and a category 5e panel) and a short branch of category 5 cable. The total length of the segments was about 150 feet. Crystal clear picture with a resolution of 1024 x 768. On another test with Category 5 cables and an unknown panel, things didn't go so well.

This product does not work right out of the box. I was trying to use it to send an HDMI signal 90 feet to a projector. When I used the laptop to send an image, the laptop recognized the projector and resized its screen to fit the projector's 4:3 aspect ratio, but I was unable to retrieve the image. The DVD player didn't show a picture either. I used 2 CAT5E cables, tested well by the tester, CAT5E cables were connected to T568-A. The manual doesn't list A or B. I then tried to connect using 2 6

Great product. One star for misinformation. The indicator clearly states that you can connect the power supply to EITHER the transmitter or receiver. It is not true! I contacted the company over a month ago and they checked and confirmed this and said they would fix their listings but as of this writing they have not. They offered no peace offering as we had HUGE inconvenience powering the ceiling instead of our tech stand like I wanted. It is clearly stated that you will get better performance
