Failed for several hours

The card failed within a few hours of operation. First the operating system stopped recognizing the card and when you turned on the BIOS there was a POST error "Failed to initialize PCI Express 4 slot” (the one where the card is located). Also cosmetically the card had white spots/bugs on the back of the board. Looks sloppy and I haven't seen it on any other map I have.

Adds USB 3 but a bit expensive

I wanted to add USB 3 ports to my custom build that only supports USB 2. This card adds two external USB 3 ports as well as one internal USB 3 19-pin connector. Connected to a Rosewill USB 3 card reader which has a USB 3 port on the front which is very convenient. As expected, the speed has improved significantly compared to USB 2. Windows 7 requires the installation of drivers, which can be downloaded from the StarTech website. After a reboot everything worked fine. Pros: 19-pin internal USB…

Works great!: Computers & Accessories

I bought this to upgrade an old 2009 i7 computer system. Installation was easy and it works very well. I chose this model because it has an internal connector to connect to the USB 3.0 port on the front of the case. This greatly improved the speed of moving large files from a USB 3 portable hard drive or memory card. I have always been very satisfied with Startech parts.

Worked great on Win 7.0 and now works great on Windows 10.0.

I am using this card to add some USB 3.0 ports to an older computer. This card works with both my USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 flash drives and external hard drives. Very happy with the performance. It's not as fast as the built-in ports on newer PCs, but that's to be expected. worked even after my old computer was recently upgraded to windows 10. I used a branded card before, but after upgrading to Win10, this old adapter failed to connect reliably to my external USB 3.0 drive.

Works fine on Windows 10 without drivers

Works fine on Windows 10 without the need to install drivers. I needed this card for the front USB 3.0 ports on my case because I accidentally bent the internal USB 3.0 pins on the motherboard. It worked great and gave me 2 extra USB 3.0 ports on the back of my computer. This could also be used to add one of those 5.25 inch optical drive boxes that have USB 3.0 ports on the front instead of a real optical drive. The SATA connector is a bit tight at first. It might be worth plugging and…
