As advertised for computer accessories and peripherals

The device supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) speeds and powers devices over USB. Of course, you need a USB port that can provide speed and power. Don't be fooled, 10 Gbps is shared across all 4 ports. Each of the ports supports advertised speeds, but bandwidth is shared. Of course, your device should be able to run at these speeds, don't expect an older USB stick to be any faster when you plug it in, and don't expect 10Gbps drives on all four ports as long as you can every single connect has…

USB-C Hub - 4 x USB-A - 10Gbps

Connected to motherboard (X470/Ryzen 2700X) Accommodated with Samsung 860 EVO 500GB installed in Vantec NexStar USB 3.1 Gen 2 external enclosure ( NST-270A31-BK ). It's FAST that the drive plugs directly into the SATA III connector and into the actual transfer. I moved the 45GB folder with 4K and 1080P movies that was on the drive to a 1TB NVMe boot drive on the motherboard. It transmits at 405MB/s for the entire transfer, with no buffering. Only the direct raw rate for the entire broadcast…

Could be better

The price is so low for a reason. Good things first: 1) Easy connection with Thunderbolt 2) Attached devices are recognized almost instantly 3) Ability to easily connect external drives that require power or don't require power 4) Works to charge devices like headphones when the laptop is now powered off bad 1) It should be 10 GB/s. I have one such device and when connected directly via Thunderbolt I get close to the advertised speed of a PCI NVMe 3x4 SSD. However, when the same element is…

Good but expensive

I've been using it for a long time, I'm just connecting 1 sensor for Oculus Rift to it and at the moment there are no problems with it. As for researching why it's still 3.0, I haven't even looked into it anymore. I saw that the manufacturer tried to contact me, but I didn't even notice it on my Revain account. In general it could be incompatibility issues as the manufacturer said it is 3.1 Gen 2 and they have tested it. But I'll just take her word for it. So I'm revising my old rating and…

Not compatible with TB adapters

For those who want to try this: iMac with Thunderbolt 1 used an Apple TB3 to TB2 adapter with a Cellularize USB-C Female adapter to use this StarTech USB connect hub but it didn't work I'm not working. Also does not work with Macbook Pro with TB2 ports (2015). I chose this hub and the Cellularize adapter because they are both Thunderbolt 3 compatible, which is required to use the Thunderbolt ports. The device must be compatible with Thunderbolt. In theory, the setup I chose should have worked…
