If you're looking for the Swiss army knife of data transfer, look no further.

I mainly use this adapter to create and restore disk images with Clonezilla and I highly recommend it for that purpose. So far I've used it with 2.5" and 3.5" IDE hard drives, SATA hard drives and even IDE optical drives, all of which have worked without problems. Data transfer via USB 3.0 is very fast, and there's USB 2.0 compatibility when I need it. The adapter works out of the box on Xubuntu 16.04 - no driver installation required. Follow instructions and pray everything works

Bought to try and fix a couple of internal hard drives that I thought had died in the past. I tested this on a total of 3 hard drives: 1 ide, 2 SATA. Very Handy Tool - Cables and Accessories

More 4.5 stars than 5 mainly because there is some confusion between the instructions and the items in the box. I needed a good way to get some (OK, LOTS) of photos and videos off the hard drive of two old computers. Computers are long outdated (one was a Pentium 3.) and would be cumbersome to transport using "conventional" means.
