StarTech Com Video Adapter Power Audio Review

This adapter works but doesn't support 1080p (1920x1080). The screen goes blank and stops. It is enough (1600 x 900), but cannot reach Full HD as advertised. However, it does add sound to the signal.

Computer: Dell Optiplex SFF 7010; Linux: Latest Zorin 64bit (free) It was just plug and play, all the necessary drivers were already there. I'm not sure how to test "all" modes. but it definitely works with my vizio

This adapter supports resolutions up to 1920x1080, however as others have pointed out this is not the case. The maximum resolution I could get this to work at was 1280x960. Anything higher and I have a black screen.

I had to combine DVI with HDMI audio after trying a basic DVI to HDMI adapter that gave good video but no audio. This resulted in poor video quality at the same 1920x1080 resolution, even with other HDMI cables. I couldn't get the audio to work either, but admittedly I wasn't too bothered by the poor image quality - ghosting and "sparkling" - very hard.

I have an old Mac that I would love to use for Geforce Now on my TV but mine TV doesn't have an HDMI input that allows analog audio input so I have no way of combining DVI from my Mac with a 1/8" audio output connected to a single HDMI input and this unit should have solved my problems but it doesn't work as advertised. As many other reviewers have pointed out, this doesn't work in 1080p, that's just a lie, don't buy this. I am returning an already overpriced app.
