It's pretty hard to spoil chrome ball bearings unless you're building precision gadgets, but they were perfect for the toys I make them out of.

Just what we need for my daughter's paracord project. She uses them in her monkey fist keychains and has received great reviews from the people she made them for.

Purchased to replace the handle on an old bolt gun, they are very tough. I had to anneal one with a torch to soften it enough to be able to drill and cut threads with it, and even then it was slow. Maybe, but not without work. I can't tell how they work in a camp. I can say they are round, nice, very hard and obviously carbon steel because they take the bluing solution well.
