I suspect they are betting that your child will outgrow them very quickly. My son likes them a lot, he got them for Christmas and after six months the rubber was torn and torn all over. He's only worn them a few hours a week (they're not allowed to go to school) and yet they're a mess. The back seam came loose on both boots after wearing them 15 times.

Great boots! Not only do they not let water through, but they also dry out quickly if water gets in (jumps into puzzles or stays out).

To the manufacturers: you guys need to get bigger, my first year is already a size 2 and she's not even the tallest in her class.
